Salon pricing in Delhi is opaque on purpose. Menus quote a starting price, then the bill arrives with a wash, a "treatment", and a blow-dry attached. Here is what things genuinely cost in 2026, and where the padding hides.

Haircuts

  • Neighbourhood salon: ₹200–₹500 for men, ₹400–₹900 for women.
  • Mid-market studio (Hauz Khas, Punjabi Bagh, Rajouri, Lajpat Nagar): ₹600–₹1,200 for men, ₹1,000–₹2,500 for women.
  • Premium studio or a named stylist: ₹2,500–₹6,000. Five-star hotel salons start at ₹4,000 and go past ₹10,000 for a creative director.

A wash and blow-dry is usually included in the mid and premium tiers and usually extra at the low end. Ask.

Colour

Global colour on shoulder-length hair runs ₹2,500 to ₹6,000 in mid-market, ₹7,000 to ₹15,000 premium. Root touch-up is ₹1,200 to ₹3,000. Balayage and highlights are priced by length and by how many foils, so a quote without seeing your hair is meaningless — expect ₹5,000 to ₹18,000 and insist on a written estimate before they start mixing.

Ammonia-free is typically 20 to 30% more. Whether it is worth it depends on your scalp, not on the marketing.

Smoothening and keratin

₹4,000 to ₹9,000 mid-market for shoulder-length, ₹10,000 to ₹22,000 premium. Price scales with length far more steeply than a cut does. Anything under ₹3,000 is a formalin-heavy product and you should not put it on your head.

Facials, waxing, nails

Basic facial ₹800–₹2,000; a branded hydrafacial ₹3,500–₹7,000. Full-arm-and-leg waxing ₹700–₹1,800 depending on whether it is rica or chocolate wax. Gel manicure ₹1,200–₹2,500. Acrylic extensions ₹2,000–₹4,000.

Bridal

A bridal package with hair, makeup, draping and a trial runs ₹15,000 at the low end to ₹1,50,000 for a well-known artist in wedding season. Travel and early-morning charges are almost always extra and almost never quoted upfront. Get it in writing.

Where the padding hides

Four line items do most of the damage: a "protein treatment" added at the basin, a serum you did not ask for, a head massage priced as a service, and a product sale at the counter framed as aftercare. None of them are scams — they are all real services — but they should be offered with a price before they touch your hair, not after.

The one question that saves you money

"What is the total, including wash and blow-dry, before I sit down?" Any salon that cannot answer that in one sentence is a salon that is planning to surprise you.
